MapAll Holdings
Incorporating MapAll Holding in early 2018 designed to deliver Technology products to the Utilities Industries we hope to deliver our new Mobile App and platform across these industries.
MapAll is the first tracking, updating and record keeping app for the telecoms industry. By logging the exact route and status of any cable and fibre optic joint at the click of a button, MapAll creates detailed and accurate infrastructure maps for network operators so you can save time and money; enhance customer experience; improve network reliability and make informed decisions based on real-time, contextual information.
We are engineers, first and foremost. Our vision reflects our experience and commitment to a better functioning telecommunications industry. That’s why MapAll enables intelligent management of fixed line telecoms infrastructure focused on the core priorities of the industry: better more efficient installation, proactive maintenance, and the ability to deliver what customers really want; seamless, reliable, high-quality connectivity. As your engineer’s work, you can build a map of your network and record every detail of the process. That includes auditing, cabling, splicing, and jointing, and transfer updates to the main platform. And it’s all done in real-time. You see it locally; you see it centrally; you see it all from wherever (and whenever) you need to.
The best apps give you both certainty and flexibility. We’ve designed MapAll so you can customize your experience and usage of its features. Telecommunications and utility organisations can adapt the app to suit their specific (and changing) needs. Most of all, it’s user-friendly. As engineers, we know what engineers need, so we designed it all into the app from day one.
The industry has needed an app like MapAll for years, but its true significance isn’t just how it transforms life for your engineers. It delivers tangible benefits for your business and, most importantly, customers.
What are your main priorities and goals in your role?
The continued growth of KMCO Group and expansion of the services and products we offer to our clients. Our main goal for the coming 12 months is to rollout our latest product MapAll. MapAll can digitally log the exact route and status of any telecommunications cable and fibre optic joint with the click of a button to create infrastructure maps and schematic drawings for network operators. With the new technology we have developed within MapAll will are hoping to revolutionise the telecoms industry.
What are your biggest challenges?
In the ever-changing world of telecommunications and in this era of social media the demand for services, finding faster and more efficient ways to deliver our projects to our customers is a key challenge. This was one of the main reasons for creating and developing MapAll.
How do you keep your team/staff motivated?
I recognize that our staff are or greatest asset. I’m a firm believer in listening, in that I mean everyone within the group has a voice. I personally make it a point to meet every new trainee, engineer or manager that starts with the Group and welcome them onboard. I encourage an open-door policy within the Group, all our staff can speak with anyone, no issue is too small to be discussed.
We reward and celebrate every success in our business with all or teams and staff. No matter how busy or challenging any week can be there’s nothing like that Friday evening drink after work with the staff to bring you back down to earth.
What are the challenges and new trends facing your industry going forward?
We are living in an era of mobile devices; high-speed data is the new normal. I believe the challenge is to fulfil people’s desire to have access to everything in real-time. This will require vast and far-reaching networks. The typology in the telecoms industry (ways to deliver) is ever changing and keeping abreast of the new technology will be key.
How did you get the idea/ concept for your business?
Having worked in the telecoms industry since 1990 and watching telecom network providers struggle to get projects delivered on time and within budget. As the new revolution in telecoms took off in the early 90’s I believe I knew what they required and was certain I could supply a better service to them. Starting with a small but experienced team with one van, to now running a fleet of over 100 vehicles and working across the whole of the UK & Ireland. We have always looked for ways to deliver better services to our clients and our latest product MapAll was devised from our experiences and knowledge.
How do you define success and what drives you to succeed?
My definition of success is knowing that what we are doing is helping everybody. To me success means creating a business that empowers customers, clients and employees in equal measures.
Success is what motivates me to do a good job. Knowing the fact that my hard work and perseverance will help me achieve greater professional success is what keeps me going. Motivation is seeing our organisation grow which ultimately leads to personal achievement and success.
What’s the best advice you’ve been given, or would give, in business?
Don’t be afraid to fail, nobody has ever gone through life without experiencing disappointment or failure, it’s how you deal and learn from it that matters.
As Henry ford famously said, “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right” Believe that you can succeed, and you’ll find ways through different disappointments. If you don’t, you will ultimately find excuses.
What’s next for your company?
To drive our new product MapAll forward, introduce Mapall to Europe, we have our first exhibition, showing off what MapAll can do at the World Broadband Forum in Amsterdam in October and are delighted to be selected for the Innovation/Gamechanger award at that event, (fingers and toes crossed). We also have expo’s in Finland & Germany in November. I am very excited about the new MapAll team we have in place and 2020, we will continue to work our way across Europe but also our plans are to expand into America.
What opportunities or plans for growth do you see in 2022?
With the feedback we have received from Telecom Network Operators about MapAll and what it can do for their businesses, we are now looking at expanding MapAll’s scope to cover all the utilities markets. We are currently developing MapAll’s technology to include Gas, Power and Water infrastructure.
